    • Edmund M. Fry; 88 in San Antonio, TX on June 15, 2005. Born in Ardmore, he moved to Oklahoma City in childhood and attended Classen High School and the University of Oklahoma. He was commissioned in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1938. He was a highly decorated veteran of WWII, participated in the invasion of Normandy in 1944 and escaped from enemy captivity in France. He retired from the Army as Colonel in 1966, and joined Benham-Blair-Poppino-Stealy (now The Benham Group) in Oklahoma City as Vice President. He and his wife Helen, who died in 1985, were active volunteers for the Red Cross. He is survived by his children Edmund Fry of Coral Gables, FL, Hunter Fry of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Linda Byler of Tulsa, as well as grandchildren . . His brother Philip H. Fry lives in Mustang. His father E. M. Fry served as Oklahoma City's first City Manager 1927-31. Donations in his memory may be made to American Cancer Society. Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery August 24 at 9:00 am.
