      Research Notes of Lora Redman Lockhart:
      Julia Ann Hancock was born 17 April 1877 and died 23 Jan 1958. She married Worthy Hewitt Redman on 25 Jan 1899. They were the parents of Joseph Clyde Redman, Lora Margaret Redman, Chester Byron Redman, Mabel Elizabeth Redman and Layton Thomas Redman. Hugh and Julia Ann Redman are buried in the Shambaugh-Cope Cemetery in DeKalb county Missouri, along with several of their children. Julia Ann Hancock was born 1877 at the farm home in Adams township, DeKalb county Missouri, near the East Union Chapel Church and attended this church and the Pleasant Valley rural school. On 25 Jan 1899 she was united in marriage to a neighhood boy, Worthy Huitt Redman. He was the son of Thomas William Redman and Mary Jane Scammahorn. They [Worthy and Julia Redman] established their home on an 80 acre farm in Dallas township near the Limestone rural school Their first son, Joseph Clyde Redman was born on this prairie farm. In 1902 they sold the farm and purchased a 120 acre farm in Adams township. Their other children: Lora Margaret Redman, Chester Byron "Dick" Redman, Mabel Elizabeth Redman and Layton Thomas Redman were born in the East Union Chapel Church and Sunny Side School community. This farm home was destroyed by fire 9 Oct 1925 and the family established their home on various farms in the area. Worthy Redman passed away on a farm in Camden township 4 Jan 1937, two miles southeast of Maysville. Julia Ann Redmond moved to Kansas City in 1943 where she was employed in the YMCA at 10th and Oak for ten years. She united with the ME Church at East Union Chapel in early life and served as president of the WSCS of which she was a charter member. She later transferred her membership to the Kansas City Baptist Temple.Mrs Redman died at her home in Kansas City 23 Jan 1958. Funeral services were held under the direction of Pilcher Funeral Home and interment in the Shambaugh-Cope Cmetery, near Weatherby, Missouri.
