    • Notes for Maude Etta Bebee; compiled by Pamela Hutchison Garrett, 2013; for Family Stories at pamgarrett.com.

Maude Etta Bebee, daughter of Mary Alice Robinson and Robert Bebee, married Thomas Mellow, an Englishman, who owned the Liberty Foundry in St. Louis. According to a letter written by Mamie Edmonston in 1948: "Maude taught in the St. Louis schools for many years. She is like her mother, sweet and gracious. She was Mr. Mellow's second wife. He has been dead for several years. They made four trips to Europe in ten years. Money didn't spoil the Mellows. They seemed to like to come here and we enjoyed having them so much. We are always so nicely treated in their home. Once, when the Mellows were coming, a young girl, who was our homemaker, was very much awed when they drove up with a negro chauffeur driving their seven passenger car, a Cad. But when Maude got herself an apron and began peeling the potatoes for dinner she got over it." Maude Beebe and Thomas Mellow had no children.
