  • Notes
    • John Robinson is noted as the oldest child of Archibald Robinson and Jane Van Lear. He was probably born in Montgomery county Virginia, but as a young child moved with his parents to Washington county Missouri. In the late 1830's he was married to a Miss Burgess. She may have died as a young wife, because on the 18th of March 1841, John Robinson was secondly married to Susan Ann Terrell. She was the daughter of James A Terrill and Susan (Susannah) Middlebrook, and sister to Richard Terrill who married Elizabeth Relfe Robinson (sister of John Robinson). According to family records, John Robinson was killed in a saw mill accident in neighboring Crawford county Missouri. This probably occured sometime between the birth of his youngest child about 1847, and the 1850 census.

1850 Census of Washington county Missouri; Belleview
      John Terrill; 31 (1819) Virginia
Susan Terrill; 55 (1795) Virginia (mother)
      Susan Terrill; 26 (1824) Virginia
      William Terrill; 13 (1837) Virginia
      Nancy Terrill; 10 (1840) Missouri
      James A Robinson; 7 (1843) Missouri
      John K Robinson; 2 (1848) Missouri
question - Could the Susan Terrill, age 26 actually be Susan Terrill Robinson and the two Robinson boys be her sons?

The widow and sons of John Robinson have not been followed.
