Obituary of James Sinopoulo


Former Cafe Man Dies at City Home

James Sinopoulo, 56 years old, a resident of Oklahoma City for 30 years and operator of the Delmar Cafe in the 200 block West Grand avenue for several years, died early Saturday morning at his home, 1428 Northwest Thirty-ninth street, after an illness of three years. He had suffered a paralytic stroke. Born in Sparta, Greece March 9 1885, Sinopoulo came to the United States 35 years ago. He lived at St Louis Missouri for five years and became an American citizen there before moving to Oklahoma City 30 years ago. He retired from business three years ago because of ill health. He was a member of St George Greek Orthodox church. Survivors include his wife, Ella; three brothers, John Sinopoulo 4000 North Kelly ave; Peter Sinopoulo 230 Northwest Seventeenth street, and Constantine Sinopoulo, Sparta Greece, and two half-brothers, George Kanellakos, Chicago, and Louis Kanellakos, Sparta Greece. Services will be at 4 pm Monday in St George's Greek Orthodox church, with burial in Fairlawn cemetery under direction of the Streeet and Draper Funeral home.
