The farming records are lengthy and it is not my intention to transcribe them here, but I will give a few examples.

Marthy Mefford commensed work March the 30th and is to have 62 ½ per week Quit work Aprile 6th 1848 worked 1 week Amt $.70
Elon Walker Comenced work May the 1st 1848 at 62 . . per week Quit work May the 13th $1.37 paid

Cost of wheat sown on Cor Robberts place in September 1847
Sowing and plowing in . . wheat 6 days worth $3.00

Hawling in wheat 3 days worth 1.50
Thrashing wheat 6 days worth 3.00
Cleaning up wheat 3 days worth 1.50

Whole Time 33 days worth 21.50
Making an average of 65 cents per day of the cost of said work For the Rent . . ground I paid one half of the clean wheat that I raised on the ground which was 135 bushels the Rent of which is 67 ½ bushels the Rest of the wheat . . to the town of Edinburg which Braut me 65 cents per Bushel which makes the sum of $43.8 ½ cents which is a proffit of $22.37 ½ cents which makes a profit on evry days work that was done of 68 cents per Day. This Statement will show that the Renter may do well in Renting wheat ground so near a market

Profficies of weather for the year 1855
January 1855 will be very pleasant for winter weather No snow of note & and not severe cold weather
February will be warm for the Season fare & nice for the Season This will be the time to sow Spring crops be sure to finish if possible in this month
March will be warm . . for the first few days then wet those that do not finish by the 13th of this month will Have to Sow in mud and muck
April the first part of this month will be cool & blustery
