Dear Luther Martin [name is difficult to read]
I have been so busy lately that I could not find time to write – We have been . . Our Law business is actually getting to be a “gigantic affair” – If it only keeps up – Last week we made . . cash (took in) $108.00 besides that much more in notes and credits = week before last was very nearly as good = We defended on case of contested election of our County Clerk . . . I don’t tell you all of this to brag – but because I know you feel an enxiety to see whether we are liable to starve in Neb. And also because I know you will feel glad to know that we are doing to well. Of course our business may fall down to nothing again – But I feel perfectly secure and quite certain that it will increase – Judge Pash told us the other day that it would keep up through the winter & be double next fall. I hope it will. We are all well -- We made all arrangements for the congregational minister to be here this evn for supper but he did not come. Here stands Burt – I will let him write a few words - David City Neb
