Bio of Thomas Fry

Thomas Walker Fry was born 24 October 1770, probably in Albemarle county Viriginia, son of Henry Fry and Susan Walker. He was married in 1795 to Elizabeth Bourn (widow of George Clayton Slaughter). They set up housekeeping in Madison county Virginia, and were the parents of two identified children: William Wirt Fry and Susan Elizabeth Fry.

Elizabeth Bourn Fry died sometime before May 1805, when Thomas Walker Fry was secondly married to Mary Ann Maury:

Married- On the 20th inst., Mr. Thomas W. Fry to Miss M. A. Maury, daughter of Col. Abram Maury, of Madison county.

Thomas Walker Fry and his second wife, Mary Ann Maury, were the parents of one identified child: Frances Fry. They appear in the 1810 census of Madison county Virginia:

Thomas Walker Fry died in 1825 in Todd county Kentucky, where his Will is of record, written 11 June 1825 and probated 9 January 1826. His wife is not named in the Will, so it is thought that she pre-deceased him. An abstract of the Will follows:

. . having given my son William W Fry, five negroes and one hundred eight acres, one horse and feather bed I have also given my daughter Susan E L Fry, who has intermarried with Thomas W Gray, one negro girl named ?, one negro woman named Cynthia, and her four children, James, Lucinda, Inda, and the youngest whose name is not recollected, also a negro woman named Bettsy and her child, one horse, bed and furniture - after Susan Fry Gray's death, to her children (not to Thomas Gray or his children by his first wife).
I give to my daughter Francis (sic) B Fry, who is now in Virginia, tract and plantation where I now live, my negro boy John.
appoint Thompson M Ewing, Archibald Buckner, son William W Fry as executors.
